BYS Grup Participated in Standards Digital Day 2026 in Oslo
BYS Grup participated in Standards Digital Day 2026, held in Oslo on 7–8 September 2026, within the scope of the “Technical Assistance for the Improvement of Standardization System and Raising Awareness” Project.
Representing Türkiye at the event, Tolga Kaskatı, PhD, General Manager of BYS Grup, and Ersin Bozkurt, Expert at the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) took part in the two-day programme focusing on the digital transformation of standardization.
Organised under the theme “The purpose isn’t changing. Everything else is,” Standards Digital Day 2026 brought together customers, partners, industry leaders and experts to discuss how technology, regulation, business models and changing user expectations are reshaping the way standards are developed, managed, distributed and used. Throughout the event, discussions focused on key areas including machine-readable and interoperable standards information, digital maturity, structured content, data governance, new digital delivery models and AI-enabled standards services. The sessions highlighted that digital transformation in standardization extends beyond technology and also requires strong governance, appropriate business models, effective processes, skilled people and sound data management. A particular emphasis was placed on the growing importance of interoperability and structured data. As industries become increasingly digital and connected, standards information needs to be accessible not only to people but also to software systems, connected devices and automated technologies. Common data models, shared definitions and interoperable systems were therefore identified as essential components of the future standardization ecosystem.
The programme also explored how rapidly developing technologies such as artificial intelligence are creating new expectations for standards organizations. Participants discussed the need for faster and more agile approaches, stronger collaboration among standards bodies and technology partners, and new digital services based on data access, APIs, licensing and AI-supported solutions.
On the second day, participants joined practical workshops focusing on standards development in a SMART world, selling and distributing standards in a digital economy, and understanding the customer of tomorrow. These sessions provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss how standards organizations can adapt their processes, capabilities and services to an increasingly digital environment.
Participation in Standards Digital Day 2026 directly supports the activities of the Technical Assistance for the Improvement of Standardization System and Raising Awareness Project. The knowledge and international practices gained during the event are expected to contribute to strengthening TSE’s digital standardization capacity, particularly in the areas of structured standards content, interoperability, data governance and emerging digital technologies.
Through its role in the project, BYS Grup continues to support the modernization of Türkiye’s standardization ecosystem by bringing together international good practices, digital expertise and innovative approaches.
