BYS Group is implementing a comprehensive digital transformation project aimed at making the standardization processes of the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE) more efficient, secure, accessible, and traceable. As part of the project, a next-generation online platform will be developed to consolidate standardization activities within a single digital environment.

The project, which aims to strengthen the institutional capacity and digital infrastructure of the Turkish Standards Institution, will enable key standardization processes—including standards development, evaluation, public consultation, voting, publication, terminology management, and stakeholder engagement—to be managed through an integrated digital system.

The overall objective of the project is to enhance the performance of Türkiye's standardization system, support the digitalization of standardization processes, and strengthen alignment with international standardization practices. In this context, the project seeks to improve operational efficiency, data integrity, user experience, security, and traceability across TSE's standardization activities.

Standardization processes to be unified on a single platform

At the core of the project is the development of an integrated, user-friendly online platform that will digitalize TSE's existing standardization processes from end to end.

The new platform will enable TSE personnel, technical committees, working groups, public institutions, private sector representatives, academic organizations, professional associations, and other stakeholders involved in standardization activities to participate more effectively throughout the entire process.

End-to-end digitalization of the standards development process

The platform will support the entire lifecycle of standards development, from the initial proposal stage through to final publication.

The creation of standardization proposals, their assignment to the relevant technical committees, preparation of work programmes, development of draft documents, collection of stakeholder feedback, evaluation of comments, electronic voting procedures, and publication of final standards will all be managed within the same digital environment.

All activities carried out throughout the process will be systematically recorded. A unified terminology infrastructure will be established

One of the project's key components is the establishment of a unified terminology infrastructure that will centrally manage the concepts and terminology used in standards and technical documentation.

Through this infrastructure, technical terms, definitions, synonyms, abbreviations, and relationships between relevant standards will be managed within a common data structure.

The terminology infrastructure is expected to:

  • improve conceptual consistency across standards,
  • enable the management of multiple definitions for the same term,
  • support standards development experts in using a common technical language,
  • facilitate information retrieval and content accessibility,

The project encompasses not only the development of a new software platform but also the assessment of existing data and its secure migration to the new system.
